Di-Chroic Duo
Artist Statement:
This photo was one of my object photos that I did not use. This is a picture of a di-chroic cube. This comes from the Greek "di" (meaning two) and "chronic" (meaning color). I set this picture up by placing a mirror under the di-chroic cube, and lit the object with two gridded soft boxes to the extreme left and right. This made the picture more visually interesting. The cube has an extravagant interior with all of its color. This cube was extremely hard to obtain because of it was developed by NASA in the 1960's and used for satellite mirrors. The glass is faceted which absorbs different wavelengths of light at various angles and produces a multitude of colors. I talked about this in my previous artist statement about the di-chroic cube. Maybe there is something inside the cube, that explains why it was so expensive...

God's Altar
Artist Statement:
This photo was taken in San Diego, California. This is a picture of a huge rock in Torrey Pines. Not only is Torrey Pines a beautiful national park, but it has some of the most beautiful rock formations. I took this photo during Spring Break because I knew that I would have a future project relating to shadows. These rock formations trace back thousands of years, and are quite amazing up close. Everything has a story behind it, but I am not thousands of years old. I took because I thought it was visually interesting. I would love to figure out more about these rock formations...
